About Chef Christophe Bonnegrace


Chef Christophe Bonnegrace's journey to culinary stardom defies convention, marked by rebellion, discipline, and redemption. Born into the rigidity of a military family, young Christophe was anything but obedient. A defiant spirit led him down a troubled path, robbing houses and spiraling into chaos. At 14, his mother, desperate to straighten him out, forced him into culinary school—a place he scoffed at, dismissing it as “for girls.” But there, in the heart of Nice, he discovered a passion that would eventually ignite a global career.

After three years of mastering the art of classical French cuisine, Christophe’s hunger for challenge drove him to the French SAS, where he spent five years embracing the discipline of an elite soldier. But even after tasting the intensity of military life, the kitchen called him back.

As a father of five, Christophe infused his culinary creations with a balance of military precision and creative freedom. His relentless pursuit of perfection earned him a Michelin star in New York City and launched him into the culinary spotlight of Los Angeles. He followed his celebrity clientele to the rugged heart of Texas, where he created Herencia Cuisine by Christophe, a culinary experience that reflects both his heritage and his daring spirit.
